OtherInbox “Batches Your Unimportant emails”

lifehacker

Yesterday Lifehacker’s Kevin Purdy wrote a great blog post about OtherInbox.

Free webapp OtherInbox wants to do the job you loathe doing daily—looking through all those semi-regular news alerts, coupons, account updates, and other non-personal mail. Give it the keys to your inbox, and OtherInbox can summarize and prioritize your bacn.

and asked the pertinent question “What about the new Gmail’s Priority Inbox and Organizer for Gmail?”

Priority Inbox does separate out your actual you-should-know mail and Starred messages, but you’ve still got the lower-half inbox to occasionally deal with. OtherInbox itself states that it works just fine alongside Priority Inbox, and makes a convincing argument.”

If you like Gmail’s Priority Inbox, we think you’ll love the perfect combination of Gmail & Organizer! Sign up and start having the best Inbox ever!

Need Help Sorting Your Email?

By: Misty Belardo

"Do you ever get days when you need to go through 250 emails waiting for you in your inbox?"

Misty Belardo asks her readers this question with a solution in mind: OtherInbox

"OtherInbox provides consumers with a free email account that automatically organizes newsletters, social networking updates, coupons and receipts from online purchases so it's easy to find the most interesting things and ignore the rest. OtherInbox shows the consumer who is really responsible for sending them spam and gives them a powerful new Block button to stop it once and for all."

Looks like she hit the nail on the head. Thank you Misty for recommending OtherInbox to your readers.

Preventing the Death of Email with OtherInbox

Preventing the Death of Email

By: Scott Francis

Scott Francis discusses the problem of having too much spam, which results in email becoming worthless. His proposed solution consists of “using an email provider that has a REALLY good spam filter” and OtherInbox that allows you to filter merchant emails you would like to receive, but may clutter your Inbox. You can also block the merchant if it becomes an avenue for spam. As a result, “between Gmail and OtherInbox, you can largely whip the spam problem.”

Social Media Notifications on the rise – OtherInbox can help

With social media increasing the number of emails within your inbox, OtherInbox can move all those notifications out of the way

By: Dan Thornton
September 30, 2009

According to a new study by Nielson, Dan Thornton points out that social media leads to more time on emails. Thornton’s solution to this problem is using OtherInbox. He goes into detail about how to “tackle the email increase” by using an OIB email address which allows you own a fully qualified domain name, @username.oib.com, (his example was @badgergravling.oib.com) and inserting the name of the social media site as his email address. For example, for facebook, his email address would be facebook@badgergravling.oib.com. Moving forward, “when that address is emailed by the site, OtherInbox automatically creates a folder of the same name and files every email from the site in the right folder.”
