Preventing the Death of Email with OtherInbox

Preventing the Death of Email

By: Scott Francis

Scott Francis discusses the problem of having too much spam, which results in email becoming worthless. His proposed solution consists of “using an email provider that has a REALLY good spam filter” and OtherInbox that allows you to filter merchant emails you would like to receive, but may clutter your Inbox. You can also block the merchant if it becomes an avenue for spam. As a result, “between Gmail and OtherInbox, you can largely whip the spam problem.”

Attacking back at the Spammers with OtherInbox

By: Keith Swenson

Keith Swenson writes an extensive blog post on how he would like to not only control spam email, but also attack Spammers. His goal “is to frustrate spammers by filling their lists with invalid email addresses.” He experiments with two solutions, the second of which being OtherInbox. Taking advantage of the “infinite number of email addresses”, he describes OtherInbox as “the service he has been looking for, that is aimed at exactly this problem.”

It’s that time of year again…The Crunchies Awards.

“The Crunchies are to technology what the Oscars are to Hollywood.” Even though the OtherInbox team has some great actors, it is probably more feasible for us to win a Crunchie than an Oscar.

So show your support and help us bring this awesome gorilla award home to Austin, Texas.
